RECLAMATeON PLAN[Rev#2] —Bellino Pit
George Reed, Inc.
Page 7
III. DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED RECLAMATION (continued)
F. Disposition of Old Equipment
No permanent structures or buildings are involved in this project. All equipment to be used at the project site is
portable and easily removed from the site upon completion of excavation and reclamation.
G. Revegetation
An abundance of topsoil is available for reclamation purposes. After excavation activities cease, the replaced
topsoil and roads(or other compacted areas)are ripped and leveled in preparation for planting. Almond trees are
usually planted by hand in the early spring of the year, as weather conditions allow. Soil amendments, fertilizer,
etc., are placed at the discretion of the Farm Contractor in charge of fanning operations. Irrigation water for the
existing and future orchard is provided by a private well.
H. Monitoring and Maintenance
Almond trees require land preparation prior to planting as well as constant maintenance and monitoring by the
Owner and Farm Contractor. To ensure successful planting, the orchard will be maintained by the Farm
Contractor regularly. If a tree failure occurs it will be replanted. Using the services of a qualified Farm
Contractor, the Owner/Operator has successfully reclaimed ±320 acres of mined lands back to almond & walnut
orchards.
I. In-Stream Mining
In-stream mining does not apply to this project.
J. Future Mining
This project will deplete existing mineral resources within the project area. It will not preclude future mining on
lands adjacent to or near the project area.
K. Public Safety
"Slow Trucks" signs are currently posted on River Road approximately 500 feet east and west of the entrance to
the processing facility. River Road is double-lined from Harrold Avenue to the facility entrance. Additional
measures and/or recommendations can be incorporated if deemed necessary.
L. Other Information
[BLANK]
[REVISED] 11/14/02JWelch
