("Project")
Dear Ms. King:
Union Pacific Railroad Company, a Delaware corporation ("UP"), is
delivering this letter in response to the above notice. It appears from the site map that the
Project is located near UP's main line rail corridor. Accordingly, UP wishes to raise the
following issues.
UP requests that if the City considers approving the Project, the City should
examine how the Project, including truck traffic generated by the Project, would impact the at-
grade railroad crossings and other roadways and intersections in the area. Any increase in
vehicle activity may result in interference with train operations and trains may be forced to
proceed more slowly, which would make rail service less effective and efficient. In the
event of train slowdowns or stoppages, train cars may be forced to block at-grade roadway
intersections, causing traffic disruptions.
UP alp_requests. the .City ensure that the drainage plan for_ the.Project does.._
not shift the burden of storm water drainage from the Project site onto neighboring
properties and that the Project contains landscape buffers, fencing and/or sound-proof walls
similar to the current buffers between the Project property and UP property.
www.up.com fe BUILDING AMERICA°
