INTRODUCTION
As per the request of Mr. Jack Sievers, our office has completed a Soil Suitability/Nitrate
Loading Study (SS/NLS) for a proposed lot line adjustment involving five (5) parcels. The site
address is 9409 East Schmeidt Road, Lodi, California. The San Joaquin County Lot Line
Number is LA-01-28. According to a site map prepared by Baumbach& Piazza Engineers, Lodi,
the assessors parcel numbers for the parcels involved with the lot line adjustment are 051-110-
34, 35, 36, 37, 38. Our office understands the total size of all five (5)parcels is 53.63 acres.
Please note that according to San Joaquin County Community Development Department, the
'- address 9409 E. Schmeidt Road is assigned to parcel 0.51-110-32. Our office does not believe
this address is not part of the lot line adjustment. The Planning Department should be contacted
regarding this detail.
This SS/NLS was required by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division for
project approval. The SS/NLS was conducted to determine whether the proposed parcels are
suitable for the use of a septic system and its potential impact to ground water quality. The
study was performed according to the requirements of Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin
County Development.
Major elements of the field work included an exploratory soil boring and percolation test
for each parcel. The percolation tests were required by San Joaquin County Public Health
Services in a letter dated October 16, 2001 to San Joaquin County Community Development
Department(Requirement A). An examination of the published soil information, geologic
maps, and available ground water information, exploratory borings logs, percolation rates, and
permit review was performed to complete the investigation.
