CALIFORNIA REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD CENTRAL VALLEY REGION MONITORING AND REPORTING PROGRAM NO. 5-00-056 FOR OWENS-BROCKWAY AND OWENS-ILLINOIS GLASS FL-FLNACE FACILITY SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY This monitoring and reporting program(MRP)describes requirements for monitoring domestic and process wastewater effluent,process wastewater infiltration/evaporation ponds, domestic wastewater septic tanks and leachfields, and groundwater. This MRP is issued pursuant to Water Code Section 13267. The Discharger shall not implement any changes to this MRP unless and until a revised MRP is issued by the _ Executive Officer. Specific sample station locations shall be approved by Regional Board staff prior to implementation of sampling activities. All samples should be representative of the volume and nature of the discharge or matrix of material sampled. The time, date, and location of each grab sample shall be recorded on the sample chain of custody form. DOMESTIC WASTEWATER EFFLUENT MONITORING This section refers to the primary domestic wastewater s-,—stem. Domestic wastewater effluent samples shall be collected prior to discharge into the leachfield. Flow monitoring shall be estimated in accordance with the approved wastewater estimation procedure described in Waste Discharge Requirements Order No. 5-00-056 Provision E.5, and shall be reported in average gallons per day. Effluent monitoring shall include, at a minimum, the following: Constituents Units Type of Sample Sampling Frequency Reporting Frequency Flow Gallons Estimate Quarterly Quarterly BODS mg/1 Grab Quarterly Quarterly Nitrates as Nitrogen mg/1 Grab Quarterly Quarterly Specific Conductivity µmhos/cm Grab Quarterly Quarterly BODS denotes five-day, 20° Celsius Biochemical Oxygen Demand. SEPTIC TANK MONITORING Septic tanks shall be inspected and pumped as described below. An inspection is not required during the quarter a septic tank is pumped.
