`r _01
On September 29, 0730 hrs, the test borings were prepared for Parcels 1, 2 and 3 by placing two
inches of fine gravel at the bottom of each boring, and then a three-inch dia. perforated PVC pipe
was inserted. The test borings were pre-saturated with approximately 12 inches of water.
Percolation testing for Parcels 1, 2 and 3 commenced on September 30, 0650 hrs, under EHD
perc test Procedure#2.
There was no standing water in any of the test borings after the 24-hour soak period with 12
inches of water. The following chart summarizes and illustrates the applicable percolation data
and information for each of the six proposed Parcels:
PROPOSED PROPOSED POST-SOAK PERC TEST RESULTS
PARCEL ACREAGE PERIOD STATUS
SHALLOW DEEP
Parcel 1 61.8 Acres Both Test Borings Dry 75.0 min/in @ 4.2 min/in @
42 inches depth(Failed) 25 feet depth
Parcel 2 61.8 Acres Both Test Borings Dry 5.4 min/in @ 13.1 min/in @
42 inches depth 25 feet depth
Parcel 3 61.8 Acres Both Test Borings Dry 15.8 min/in @ 3.6 min/in @
39 inches depth 17 feet depth
Parcel 4 61.8 Acres Both Test Borings Dry 30.0 min/in @ 8.8 min/in @
42 inches depth 11 feet depth
Parcel 5 61.8 Acres Both Test Borings Dry 62.5 min/in @ 12.0 min/in @
42 inches depth(Failed) 12.7 feet depth
Parcel 6 61.8 Acres 13oth Test Borings Dry 125.0 min/in @ 5.0 min/in @
42 inches depth(Failed) 17 feet depth
LOCAL GROUNDWATER AND SURFACE WATER INFORMATION
The 1999 Lines of Equal Elevation Map published by the San Joaquin County Flood Control
illustrates the groundwater elevation and the directional flow. The groundwater depth is 93
feet MSL and the elevation is -40 feet MSL. From the equal elevation map, it appears the
property is near a zone of recharge, with the groundwater flow in a slight northerly direction.
This may be attributable to a high volume of groundwater being pumped in this locale.
Two Well Driller's Logs were available for inspection of the underlying soil lithology under Sola
Road. The Logs show intervening strata of clay, sand, rocks and shale.
The e.-L ng_private domestic water well located at the extreme north-center of the property was
sampled and tested for nitrate and the agrichemicals DBCP/EDB. This well served a house that
burned down. There was no EHD permit record of septic system removal for this house. The
well pump was allowed to cycle three times before sampling, which was done at a hose bibb off
the discharge pipe. A plastic bottle was used for the nitrate sample of the water. An amber glass
VOC bottle with preservative was used for the DBCP sample. The samples were placed in a
cooled ice chest and subsequently delivered to A&L Agricultural Laboratories in Modesto
under the attached Chain of Custody.
Page -3-
Chesney Consulting
