ENVIRONMENTAL SITE ASSESSMENT THE PURPOSE OF THIS SITE ASSESSMENT IS TO IDENTIFY THE PRESENCE OR LIKELY PRESENCE OF ANY HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES OR PETROLEUM PRODUCTS ON OR NEAR,ABOVE OR BELOW GROUND,OF SUBJECT PARCEL,AND TO DOCUMENT CONDITIONS THAT INDICATE A PRESENT OR PAST RELEASE OF ANY PETROLEUM PRODUCTS OR OTHER HAZARDOUS MATERIAL.ANY SUCH RELEASE MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE BEEN IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE LAW. GUIDELINES FOR SITE ASSESSMENT ARE CONTAINED INASTMSTANDARDS RELATING TO ENVIRONMENTAL SITE CHARACTERIZATION,2002,2ND EDITTON _ Section 9-905.12 Surface and Subsurface Contamination Rewe (a) Report. A surface and subsurface contamination report shall be required at the time of r the tentative map submittal. The surface and subsurface contamination report shall be prepared by a qualified environmental professional and shall Identity any potential source of surface or subsurface contamination caused by past or current land uses. The report shall include evaluation of non-point source of hazardous materials, including agricultural chemical residues, as well as potential point sources, such as fuel storage tanks, septic systems, or chemical storage areas. (b) Waiver of Reoort. The surface and subsurface contamination report may be waived if the Environmental Health Division finds that, due to the knowledge the County possesses relative to the possible contamination of the soils in this subdivision, no preliminary analysis is necessary. (c) Corrective Action. If the report indicates there are surface and subsurface contamination, corrective action shall be taken, as recommended in the report and concurred with by Environmental Health prior to the issuance of the building permit. Other than the above Title Section there are no additional published instructions or criteria by the Local Agency as to methodology for preparation of this report.
