w
vegetation growth.
The agricultural report indicates no chemical use history on the parcel and is included in this
report.
TOPOGRAPHIC MAPS
The Topograhic Maps for 1953, 1968 and 1968-1993 have been reviewed. The 90' contour
appears to run thru the middle of the site. The site has adequate slope for surface runoff.
AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHS
The aerial photographs examined show the area around the site. The aerials are dated 1957, 1984
and 1993. The 1957 aerial shows sparse development. The 1984 aerial shows more agricultural
use but few residences. The 1993 aerial shows row crops and/or hay fields. Few new residences
are evident. The Assessor's Parcel maps included show the land development. The land use in this
area is primarily ag with no manufacturing/industrial use in the study area.
SEPTIC PERMITS
Approximately 15 septic reports were reviewed at EHD, on Sowles Road for any indication of
large scale failure. Repairs of record were found at 26056, 26170, 26190 and 27650. The added
work consisted of one 40' line and a pit, except at 26170 where three pits were added on the 40'
line. All copies are included in this report. The septic system Permit at 27300 N. Sowles Road
was dated in 1988. This portion of San Joaquin County contains marginal soil, both for
agricultural use and on-site septic systems. Repair may be required because of abuse of the system
and/or undesirable soil characteristics. Most residents who move from an urban setting to a rural
setting do not understand the on-site septic system operation and the result is poor maintenance.
The repair record does not indicate any gross failure in this area.
The EDR report does not list any problem sites within the `/z mile radius of study..
There are no contamination issues, past or present, identified by the research.
EVALUATION OF PAST AND CURRENT SOURCES OF CONTAMINATION
IDENTIFIED AT OR NEAR THE SITE AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FURTHER
ACTION
The EHD UTSMD List does not show any listed sites on Liberty/Sowles Road. No
potential/known sources of contamination have been identified that would concern health or
environment. The domestic well should be tested in the soil suitability study phase.
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS SECTION
2.
