Methods For Disposal of Agricultural Solids and Liquids:
Crop land applications of liquid waste:
Application of agricultural waste in the form of liquids mixed with district irrigation water must be
applied with caution. The predominant soil#193 has a slow permeability rate offering susceptibility to
runoff. There is no tail water control drainage system in place at these properties. Consequently, any
runoff is deposited directly into the areas' drainage system.
Crop land applications of manure solids:
The soil at this site has a slow permeability rate and a relatively high pH. Good agricultural practices
dictate that manure solids can be applied to this soil to build up it's organic content and lower it's pH.
The benefit from solids applied and incorporated into the soil via discing or plowing will increase both
the water holding capacity, tilth, percolation rate and the ability to contain nitrate nitrogen in the anion
enhance environment.
13
