i
k" KLEINFELDER
An employee owned company
File No. 23814.G01
November 25, 2002
Mr. Richard Stellmacher
17390 Kroll Road
Lodi, CA 95240
Subject: SOILS SUITABILITY AND NITRATE LOADING STUDY
10550 E. STATE HIGHWAY ROUTE 12
LODI, CALIFORNIA
Dear Mr. Stellmacher:
Kleinfelder is pleased to present the results of our soil suitability and nitrate loading study for six
residential parcels to be located at 10550 E. State Highway Route 12 west of Lodi, California.
The purpose of our study was to determine the suitability of the property for septic tank usage.
The study was performed in general accordance to the requirements of Section 9-101000 of San
Joaquin County Ordinance. The following includes background information regarding the
proposed development, present use of the site, and the groundwater depth in the project area. In
addition, discussions regarding our investigative procedures and the site conditions encountered
during our field exploration and the results of percolation tests are presented. Finally, the results
of our nitrate loading calculations and project limitations are provided.
PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
On a preliminary basis, we understand the subject 23.6-acre project site will contain six parcels,
and a single family residence will be built on each lot. We understand.that San Joaquin County
will allow two homes to be placed on each lot. Accordingly, per San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Division (SJC/EHD) criteria, our analysis is based on the assumption that
two homes will be placed on each parcel. At the time of our investigation the site was a vacant
field that had been recently disced. A gravel road ran along the east side of the site.
We anticipate that waste disposal for the houses will be provided by individual on-site sewage
disposal systems consisting of a septic tank/leach trench sewage disposal system.
GROUNDWATER DEPTH
During the time of our investigation, groundwater was not encountered.
