6-
r. August 16, 2004
NOA Project Number: E04095A
3.2 Past On-Site Sources of Contamination
No potential above-or below-ground on-site potential or known sources of contamination were
identified from past uses of the site, except for the following:
- • Atrazine was applied to the subject property in 2000 and 2002. Atrazine is only slightly
toxic, but it is listed as an RUP because of its potential for groundwater contamination.
Because of the age of the structures on the subject property, it is possible that lead-based
paints and/or asbestos-containing materials were used in their construction.
L
3.3 Current On-Site Sources of Contamination
L No above-or below-ground on-site potential or known sources of contamination were identified
from current uses of the site, except for the following:
L • An abandoned car, a diesel truck, tires, used automotive batteries, used chemical
containers, and other debris were observed on the subject property.
' • Several drums were observed on the property, including one drum which had leaked its
contents onto the ground below.
• Five above-ground storage tanks were observed on the property. Only one of these is
actively in use.
L
• One minor oil stain was observed on the ground around the labor camp.
L a Evidence of chemical weed kill was observed along the field roads and in the labor camp
area.
L • Six pole-mounted transformers were observed on the subject property. Based on the
appearance of the transformers, it seems likely that they contain PCBs.
Y..
12
b. '-44
1.
