L
November 18, 2005
NOA Project Number: E05144A
- /5.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
L Given the historical uses of agricultural chemicals and petroleum products on the subject property, and
the possibility of lead based paint and ACM used in the onsite structures, meaningful conclusions
rcgaxdLmg the presence or extent of cuch material cannot he determined urithont Sail Rampling and
L analysis. Such sampling and analysis is especially warranted in the conversion of aericultural land into
residential use.
i
L
Because no staining was observed in the vicinity of the transformers, the transformers are not
considered an environmental threat to the subject property at this time. Should the property owners
L or the EHD be concerned about PCB contamination from the transformers, PG&E should be
contacted to test, retrofit, or replace the transformers.
L' Potential remnants of the mining operation and previous residences could be uncovered during
development or farming activities. Any additional infrastructure or buried debris that may be
'- encountered during site grading or development should be removed and disposed of in accordance with
all applicable regulations.
L Any wells or septic systems identified which will not remain in use should be abandoned under EHD
oversight.
L
The tailings for mining activities have been placed into the mining pits and top soil has been spread over
the top. The soils in the area of the mining operation have been disturbed and may settle over time.
LTherefore, a geotechnical engineer should be consulted prior to construction of buildings or other
engineered structures in this area.
The aboveground petroleum storage tanks should be laced within a secondary containment if they are
to remain on the snhiect property.
V
L 6.0 LIMITATIONS
This report was compiled as a Surface and Subsurface Contamination Report for the subject property.
L This report contains information and data provided to NOA by several sources. NOA in no way
warrants the accuracy or completeness of the information provided to this investigation by those
Lsources.
14
L "004
L
