Funderburg
San Joaquin County
Community Development Department
Development Services Division
1810 East Hazelton Ave.
Stockton,CA 95205
Dear Mr. Funderburg:
The California Department of Transportation(Department)appreciates the opportunity to review
the Use Permit application to expand an existing truck terminal and parking operation from 80
trucks to 110 trucks and a heavy equipment storage area. The project also includes the use of an
existing 200 square foot commercial mach to be utilized as an office. This property is located
4,000 feet east of Thornton Road,on the south side of State Route 12, north of Lodi.
After reviewing this application, the Department has the following comments:
• Please explain why under"Deliveries/Other per Shift"there is N/A written even though it
is expanding the number of trucks.
• The application included an enclosure titled"Flag City Truck and Equipment Parking
Project Description"which states that a traffic operational analysis was conducted for the
previous application(PA-0700125)by DKS Associates and goes on to stats the analysis
concluded that the previous project would not result in any significant transportation
impacts along SR 12 or any adverse impacts to area-wide circulation or nearby
driveways. This traffic operational analysis did not consider this expansion or the new
proposed application PA-1300105. Therefore, the traffic operational analysis needs to be
updated to reflect the contributory impacts of this new facility and expansion of this
existing facility.
