Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205
Dear Ms. Jolley:
Caltrans has reviewed the trip generation estimates sent by Mike Smith for Site Approval
Application (PA-0200019) to construct a small winery in three phases on the northwest
corner of State Route (SR) 12 and Cherry Road, Lodi (APN 051-030-09, 66). Caltrans
has the following comments:
Traffic Operations
Volumes provided by the proponent do not indicate a need for improvements at the
intersection of SR 12 and Cherry Road.
o Caltrans has determined that this project will contribute to cumulative impacts at the
intersection of SR 12 and Cherry Road. Therefore, Caltrans recommends the
collection of impact fees on a "Fair Share" basis for this intersection. i
Hydraulics
Caltrans understands that a railroad bed separates the proposed project from SR 12, which
the applicant claims will prevent stormwater discharges from affecting Caltrans facilities.
However, Caltrans will require a complete set of drainage plans to verify that storm and
non-stormwater discharges will remain on site and not affect SR 12.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss these comments in more detail, please
contact Mike Higgins at (209) 948-3996 (e-mail: mhiggins@dot.ca.gov).
Sincerely,
TOM DUMAS, Chief
Office of Intermodal Planning
cc: Mr. Gabe Karam
Department of Public Works
San Joaquin County
1810 E.
