LA WSONENTERPRISESDBA WILDROSE VINEYARDS, SANJOAQUIN COUNTY
Staff have been working with you since 7 July 1999 to characterize your winery waste discharge and
prepare Waste Discharge Requirements (WDRs). Due to a lack of data, you were not placed under
WDRs last year, but were asked to monitor your effluent during the 1999 crush season and submit a
report of results at the end of the 1999 crush season. However, you did not collect that data, and staff
proceeded to prepare WDRs. Tentative WDRs were sent to you for comments on 26 June 2000, and
contained several due dates for various reports. You did not have any comments, and WDRs No. 5-00-
182 were adopted on 4 August 2000.
The following reports have not yet been submitted:
Provision 2.a of the WDRs requires R. Lawson Enterprises to submit the following:
By 6 October 2000, the Discharger shall submit a report describing the installation of a meter to
measure the flow of winery wastewater to the land application areas, how stormwater flows have
been separated from wastewater flows, the installation of the 12,000 gallon tank, and how the
wastewater from CFP has been separated from the winery wastewater.
Provision 2.b of the WDRs requires R. Lawson Enterprises to submit the following:
By 6 October 1000, the Discharger shall submit a groundwater monitoring well installation
workplan to monitor the effect of wastewater application on the underlying groundwater. The
workplan shall be prepared by a California Registered Geologist or Engineer.
You recently contacted staff to say that submittal of the flow meter report and monitoring well
installation workplan were delayed due to crush. However, you did not provide any indication as to
when you intended to submit the reports. Because the technical report required by Provision 2.a will
describe important changes to the wastewater handling and disposal system required by the WDRs,
failure to submit the report is considered an especially serious violation of the WDRs.
California Environmental Protection Agency_
0 Recycled Paper
