"7j
rrDATA
§ 5.2, 5.3, and 5.4) A Log of Boring using the Unified Soil Classification System (U.S.C.S.), asbserved in the 36 inch shallow perc test borings, is found on the EHD PERCOLATION TEST SHEET. No cemented silts hardpan soil stratum was discernible at depths down to the
minimum leachline trench depth of 36 inches.
(§ 6.1) Percolation testing was conducted in the locations illustrated on the Tentative Map found
in Appendix C. These test locations maintains sufficient distance requirements between wells,
property lines, an irrigation ditch, etc. The following information describes the preparation of the
percolation test boring and the actual percolation testing:
(§ 6.2,6.3 and 6.5) On November 13, 2008, 0800 hrs, shallow perc test borings of 36 inches
were hand-drilled on proposed Parcel 1 and proposed Parcel 2. The sidewalls of these shallow
borings were scored with a pry-bar and the loose material removed. Two inches of fine gravel
was placed at the bottom and a three-inch perforated PVC pipe was inserted into each test boring.
The borings were then pre-saturated at 0900 hrs with 12 inches of clear water.
(§ 6.4) On November 14, 200$ 0800 hrs,percolation testing commenced. There was no standing
water after the 24-hour soak period in the perc test borings due to the fine sandy-silty type soil, as
illustrated in Table 1 below. Consequently, EHD Perc Test Procedure#2 was conducted for both
test borings.
The last half hour of the test was witnessed by Lisa Medina, R.E.H.S. of the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department. Both proposed Parcel 1 and 2 exhibited acceptable percolation
at 25.0 min/in and 35.7 min/in, respectively. The maximum acceptable perc rate is 60 min/in for
shallow perc tests.
(§ 5.4 and 6.8) The following Table illustrates the proposed Parcel number, septic system
structure to be installed based on the depth of the passing perc rate, proposed acreage, post soak
period status and perc test results for the respective perc test.
TABLE 1
PERCOLATION TEST RESULTS AND RELATED DATA
PROPOSED PARCEL PROPOSED SHALLOW PERC TEST POST SOAK PERC TEST
POTENTIAL S1 ACREAGE DEPTH PERIOD RESULTS
SYSTEM STRUCTURE
STATUS
Parcel 1 127.0±Acres 36 INCHES No Standing 25.0 min/in
loo Foot t.eeohenes Per Water in Hole
Bedmom
Parcell 123.0±Acres 36 INCHES No Standing 35.7 min/in
100 Foot L ehli..Per Water in Hole
Bedroom
Page -3-
Chesney Consulting
