F
SIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
ervations, there is no surface contamination on the subject property. Therefore.
this report, no corrective action is required within the boundaries of the subject
propery.
It is my professional opinion and judgment that the agrichemicals applied to the subject property
pose an absolute minimal danger to human health and the environment. The probability of
subsurface contamination from pesticides, or other types of agrichernicals that maXhave drifted,
or,Wed on the property, can be considered low. This considers the environmental fate data found
in ppen ix and for D1and its related compounds presented above, which would be the
most likely_persistent agrichemical that is no longer used. The depth to groundwater of 5 feet
would make impact from adverse constituents a possibility;however, given the high clay content
and highly organic soil, the probability of groundwater impact declines substantially in
comparison to these agrichemicals being used in sandy soils with a high groundwater table. The
important issue with regard to agrichemical use on the subject property is the fact that there is no
on-site agrichemical mixing.
As referenced, business practices at Alpine Helicopters in the past, and at present are unknown.
Impact to the underlying groundwater from agrichemicals or other adverse constituents may be a
possibility, although this possibility exists for virtually any commercial facility.
The probability for nitrate coatamination of Le,-underlying agnifets_originating-from—surrounding
septic systems is extremely low due to the low density of systems in the study area. However,
fertilizer applications and organic matter decomposition make the likelihood of high nitrate
concentration in the water table and underlying aquifers comparatively high.
The subject site is surrounded by properties that engage in production agriculture. Consequences
of this surrounding land use include: dust, odors, insects, machinery, crop dusting aircraft, trucks,
exhaust and other environmental effects that may be offensive to some people.
Page -6-
Chesnq Comq&ing
