HISTORICAL TOPOGRAPHIC MAPS Developmental history of the subject property and surrounding areas was researched using historical 7.5 Minute USGS Topographic Maps;three Vernalis Quadrangle Topographic Maps for 1952, 1969, and 1991 (scale 1:24,000),one Vernalis Quadrangle Map for 1915(scale 1:31,680)and one Carbona Quadrangle Map for 1947 (scale 1:50,000) were provided by EDR. Property use appears to be undeveloped or agricultural land in all directions. In summary,review of the historical USGS Topographic Maps revealed no features on the subject property or adjacent properties that are of significant environmental concern except for use of the property as a small airfield and the potential of hydrocarbon or agricultural chemical use. Topographic Maps of the subject area preceding 1915 and subsequent to 1991 were not readily available for review. Representative Maps are included in Appendix B. 3.4. BUILDING DEPARTMENT/ASSESSOR'S OFFICE The San Joaquin County Building Department(SJCBD)maintains records for the construction and demolition of buildings and structures within city boundaries. The records are on a computer data base for 1992 and subsequent years. Permits issued prior to 1992 are not easily ascertainable and reviewable as the permit records are filed in notebooks by year then by street name; many records prior to 1960 do not list the permit purpose.
