March 24,2005
NOA Project Number: E04144A
L4.0 EVALUATION OF IDENTIFIED CONTAMINATION SOURCES
Paraquat and other agricultural chemical residues may remain on the property. Because the property
Lis to remain agricultural, however, and because there is no evidence that these chemicals were applied
inappropriately, the potential presence of chemical residues on the property is not considered an
environmental concern at this time.
LThe plugged and abandoned gas well on the subject property could not be located during the site visit.
This well is not anticipated to impact the subject property in the future.
LThe underground petroleum pipeline is owned by Kinder Morgan. Any problems with the pipeline
would be the responsibility of that entity.
LBased on the file review and interview conducted for George's Service, that facility does not appear
likely to impact the subject property at this time.
LThe bum pile and pile of pipes adjacent to the subject property do not appear to pose an immediate
threat to the property.
* Because the surrounding gas wells are either plugged and abandoned or separated from the subject
property by a major road,no impact to the subject property is anticipated from these sources.
L5.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Given the historical uses of agricultural chemicals and petroleum products on the subject property,
V meaningful conclusions regarding the presence or extent of such material cannot be determined without
soil sampling and analysis.
LShould new construction require the development of domestic wells, EHD should be contacted for
direction regarding the potential for impacts to groundwater from the agricultural history of the vicinity.
L If construction is to take place in the future in the vicinity of the plugged and abandoned dry hole well
on the subject property, the Department of Oil, Gas,and Geothermal Resources should be contacted
for direction before proceeding.
L
The bum pile and pile of pipes south of the subject property should be periodically monitored to insure
Lthat no hazardous substances which could potentially impact the property are disposed at that location.
L
L
10
.,44
L
