L u <br /> ` March 24,2005 <br /> NOA Project Number: E04144A <br /> In the 1937 photo, the subject property appears to be an agricultural field. Ahern Road and Koster <br /> Road are apparent. One residence lies across Koster Road to the immediate west of the subject <br /> property. <br /> LIn the 1952 photo,the subject property appears to be planted with orchard. The residence to the west <br /> of the property is no longer apparent. New development is apparent to the northwest. <br /> LIn the 1963 photo, the trees on the subject property appear to have thinned. <br /> L In the 1975 photo,the orchard has been removed,and the subject property is once again an agricultural <br /> field. An object is apparent at the northern tip of the property where the agricultural pump is now. An <br /> irrigation canal or road extends to the northwest from the northern tip of the property. The adjoining <br /> property to the west appears to be orchard. <br /> L In the 1983 photo,the canal or road extending to the northwest from the northern tip of the property <br /> Lis no longer apparent. <br /> In the 1993 photo,the agricultural pond at the northern tip of the subject property is apparent. A new <br /> 4 structure is apparent to the west of the property. <br /> These photos are included in Appendix C of this report. <br /> L 2.3 USGS Topographic Maps <br /> j The topographic quadrangle depicting the subject property is the U.S. Geological Survey, Vemalis, <br /> L California, quadrangle map. One 7.5-minute map dated 1991 was available at NOA and through <br /> Microsoft Terraserver. <br /> I <br /> L In the 1991 map,the subject property is depicted as vacant land lying at 90 to 105 feet above mean sea <br /> level with a slope of approximately 30 feet per mile down to the northeast. Railroad tracks along Ahern <br /> Road define the northeast boundary of the subject property, and Koster Road defines the western <br /> L boundary. Development is depicted to the north at the intersection of Koster, Durham Ferry, and <br /> Ahern Roads. <br /> L This map is included in Appendix C of this report. <br /> L2.4 Interviews <br /> An attempt was made to obtain historical as well as current information relative to the subject property <br /> from the property owner or key site manages of the property. An Environmental Questionnaire and <br /> Disclosure Statement was completed by Mr.James Thoming,owner of the subject property,on January <br /> 21,2005.
