10119/2008
Rick Griffln
San Joaquin County Community Development Dept.
1810 E. Hazelton Ave.
Stockton, CA 95205
RE: Application PA 0800266 Winery Use Permit
Property Owner: Kent Raverty
100 E.Taddei Rd.
Acarnpo, CA 95220
Dear Rick,
My next door neighbor Kent Raverty told me he planned to start a winery next to his home.
Soon after that I received your letter in the mail_ My initial reaction was worry. How much
noise and traffic will it create? My wife and I really love this area of Acampo and the peace and
quiet we have found here_ Kent has been a good neighbor and we like him, so we thought
okay, maybe it won't be that bad. I wasn't planning to get involved in Kent's permit process,
but 1 decided to call you just to be sure of the details. The following is a summary of our
conversation:
• Applications of this type are normally approved, regardless of what neighbors think.
• The winery is not required to provide sound walls or any sound control measures.
• Mr. Raverty has requested 24 one day events and 4 three day events. Once he gets his permit
he may request additional event days.
Since the winery is located right next door to his residence he may have private events in
addition to the 28 requested.
• No traffic impact studies are required.
• There is no limit on how many people may attend the events.
• The winery may hold any type of event as long as the event is promotional. It is up to the
winery to define what makes an event promotional_ Events may include weddings, parties,
etc.
• A helicopter- landing pad is planned. Is this to transport partygoers?
• Live bands and amplified music are allowed but must be turned down at 10 PM.
I am zequestin.g that you speak with Kent to see if he is willing to compromise to lessen the
impact on my family nd the neioborhoed.
- VWJ 17-07 Qnn7/nzinT
