The well water shall be sampled and tested for the following water quality tests to ensure
the source meets California Safe Drinking Water Standards. A state certified laboratory
personnel at a state approved laboratory facility shall do the sampling and testing.
Instruct the laboratory to label and report these samples as Well #11, with the well site
address, and obtain them from the wellhead.
a. Secondary (aesthetics): Bicarbonate, carbonate, and hydroxide alkalinity, calcium,
iron, magnesium, manganese, pH, sodium, and total hardness are due at least once
(California Code of Regulations (CCR), Title 22, Section 64449).
b. Inorganic chemicals: Fluoride is due at least once (CCR, Title 22, Section 64432
(m)(1)).
C, Nitrates: Required annually. Sampling shall be quarterly if the results exceed '/2 of
the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL_) of 45mg/L (CCR, Title 22, Section 64432
(a))-
d. Nitrites: Required once every three years (CCR, Title 22, Section 64432 (a)).
e. Bacteriological. This Department will require at least two consecutive bacteriological
samples collected from the well head that are Total Coliform Absent and Fecal
Absent. The tests shall be taken and reported within a seven-day_period and in no
case be completed more than twenty-eight (28) days prior to use of the well. The
water samples collected for the presence of bacteria shall be tested for chlorine
residuals. The chlorine residual levels shall be recorded on the bacteriological lab
results. The chlorine residual shall be less than 0.05 ppm for the bacteriological
result to be accepted.
Routine bacteriological samples will then be required once each calendar quarter
from the distribution system at the Routine sample site, per the Sample Site Pian.
The water from the new Well #1 may not be placed into the drinking water distribution system or
served to your customers, until all water sample results from tests "a-e" have been submitted and
found to meet drinking water standards by the EHD. Use of this well as a drinking water source
before gaining the END approval may result in further legal action and fees.
2. Any water well that will become a source for the Kent W Raverty Trust Water System
shall comply with the following public well construction and well specifications of the San
Joaquin County Well Standards, the State of California Water Well Standards, and the
California Code of Regulations Water Works Standards:
a. The well casing shall terminate at least 18 inches above surface grade and
above the 100 year flood plain.
b. The wellhead shall have a properly installed check valve, sample tap, pressure
t relief valve, and well casing vent that is down turned and screened to exclude
rain water, insects and debris.
c. The sample tap for the well shall be a non-threaded, down--turned sampling tap
located on the discharge line between the wellhead and the check valve.
Sampling taps used for obtaining samples for bacteriological analysis shall not
have a screen, aerator, or like feature.
d. The Wellhead and electrical controls shall not be installed in vaults.
