Revision: The following is the revised report sections.
2.3.4.1
Quantity and Quality of Domestic Wastewater from Proposed Project
The following discussion is for determining the long-term waste water flow generated from
septic system use only of the proposed winery facility and residences on site. These flow
numbers should not be used for septic system design purposes. Typically, use estimates for the
sizing of septic systems include a peak use factor, whereas the numbers discussed here are
based on long-term averages. It is our assumption that any winery waste water generated on
the site will be hauled off site with proper waste water discharge permitting. No contribution I
from agriculture is considered in this analysis.
1
According to the owner, five to ten (5 to 10) customers are expected on weekends by
appointment only. The proposed employee number for serving wine at the tasting facility will be
two (2) workers, two (2) days per week. A banquet hall will be available 24 days per year which
will employ approximately five (5) employees and hold a maximum occupancy of 350
customers.
The text from Crites and Tchobanoglous (1998) (Table 4-2) indicates that the typical office
worker (includes commercial workers) use rate is 13 gpd. The EPA (1980) Design Manual
(Table 4-6) indicates the typical use rate is 14.5 gpd for an office worker. Since the Crites and
Tchobanoglous (1998) information is the most current available, our office believes it provides
ANGELS CAMP - LODI MODESTO RENO - SACRAMENTO WALNUT CREEK
L 0 D 1 902 Industrial Way Lodi,CA 95240 - 209.367.3701 - FAX 209-369.4228 www.noanderson.com
