May 22,2012
Attention: Mo Hatef,
On May 13,2012 it came to my attention that St Jorge Winery had built an amphitheater for concerts
and also a commercial kitchen. This was done without permits or approval from the county. They also
have scheduled 3 events with a single singer/guitar player. What's to stop them from having big bands
in the future and large crowds. Who over looks these business to see if they are following their use
permits correctly?
On May 14,2012, 1 called you in regards to these concerts and no permits being issued to build the
amphitheater& kitchen. You confirmed that, it was correct that there were no permits issued, but a
temporary approval was given for the concerts as long as the Vierra's did not use the amphitheater&
kitchen. Why were the Vierra's not ordered to tear down the amphitheater & kitchen. Ignorance of the
law does not make broken rules ok.
I live in the country because, one of the things I enjoy most is the serenity of country living. In the past
5 years, three wineries have been built within approximately a mile and a half of my home.,St.Jorge
being the closest, less than a mile. In general I have no objections with their business or events, so
long as they don't interfere with my rights to enjoy my own back yard or my neighbors, and don't
devalue our property, because they were built too close and have loud music. One winery nearby as
even had firework shows. Would you want to live next door? What some people don't realize is that
sounds carry along ways in the country. I have heard music as far as 3 miles away. I feel that the
County Development Department should physically see where a winery, event centers, etc. wants to
locate before giving them the ok to build or hold events. Romano&Judy Isola, live less than 100 feet of
St.Jorge Winery and the winery parking lot is right along side of the Isola's yard, with no barriers to
control sounds, so much for quite country living. Please hear our voices&concerns and take action in
our favor and not grant use permits for this winery to grow into a larger event center.
Thank You,
Qdo6 of eG
Adel Liebelt
