The
project consists of a plan to subdivide a 26-acre parcel into a
12-acre homesite and a 14-acre parcel .
Wildlife habitat conditions consists of agricultural lands
and rural residences bordering the Mokelumne River. There is a
strand of mature riparian vegetation along both banks of the
Mokelumne River. California Natural Diversity Data Base files
contain records for the State-threatened Swainson' s hawk (Buten
swainsoni ) in the project. vicinity. Also, the project site has
the potential to provide habitat for the Federally-listed
threatened valley elderberry longhorn beetle (Desmocerus
californicus dimorphus) .
The Mokelumne River provides significant fish and wildlife
habitat. In order to protect water quality and riparian habitat
we recommend that the subject Minor Subdivision Application be
conditioned so that a 100-foot nonstructural buffer is established
along the Mokelumne River..
This project will have an impact to fish and/or wildlife
habitat .
