March 19, 2004
NOA Project Number: E0415A
Page 5
Since Crites and Tchobanoglous (1998) information is the most current available, our office
believes it provides the best estimate of waste water flow for the office worker category.
The rates presented from the references provide general guidance but do not always reflect a
match in usage. Careful examination, professional judgement, and experience are necessary to
select a reasonable flow rate estimate. The flow rates selected for the uses associated with this
facility are presented in the following table.
Table 2.
Typical Quantity of Effluent for Various Sources.
Category Total People Average Quantity Average Daily Flow
per Day per Person Per Parcel
San Joaquin Electric, 10 13 gal/day/person 10 employee/day* 130 gpd/person
full time office employees = 130 gpd
Average daily flow: 130 gpd
Notes —gpd is gallons per day.
ow, The daily waste water quantity is estimated to be 130 gallons per day. Waste water quality is
discussed within the nitrate loading section of the report.
am
4.0 GROUND WATER INFORMATION
bw 4.1 Ground Water Depth and Gradient
The San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (1998 and 1999) ground
water depth and elevation maps were reviewed to determine the ground water levels near the
Site. The Fall 1998 and Spring 1999 maps are the most current maps available from the county.
According to these maps (Plates 2 through 5), ground water lies between 50 and 60 feet below
ground surface in the vicinity of the Site and flows to the northeast at a rate of approximately 13
eet per mile during the fall; groundwater direction and gradient were not well defined in the
` spring map.
4.2 On-Site Ground Water
No wells exist on the property. No ground water was encountered by the staff of Neil O.
Anderson &Associates, Inc. during the drilling of percolation test holes to a depth of 22 feet in
` early March, 2004.
f
61
V
