Trans Sohal Logistics- Nitrate Loading Section Page 10 of 13
Our Project Number: LGS140011
October 8, 2014
Table 3.
Estimate of Deep Percolation of Rain for the Site
Location Deep Percolation of Rain
Stockton — 3.21 inches
Based on this method, the average deep percolation of rain for the Stockton area is estimated
to be 3.21 inches/year. The nitrate concentration of rainfall is estimated to be 1 mg/L-N
(Hantzsche and Finnemore, 1992).
2.3.3 Current On-Site Sources of Nitrate
There are no current on-site sources of nitrate except for natural processes.
2.3.4 Future On-Site Sources of Nitrate
2.3.4.1 Quantity and Quality of Wastewater from Proposed Project
The following discussion is for determining the long-term wastewater flow generated from the
proposed construction of one 900-square foot office building with one low-flow flush toilet as
part of a trucking company with truck parking on the 2.22 acre parcel. The office is estimated
to have a maximum of 3 employees per day. No other persons are anticipated at the site.
However, the system should additionally be designed for occasional visitor capacity, in the
event that visitors are present and use the office restroom. A maximum of three visitors per day
should be accounted for as a "worst case" scenario. We understand that the office is planned
to be open approximately eight hours per day, five days per week.
The estimated sewage flow rates for use categories are available from a number of references.
The uses presented below were guided by the San Joaquin County On-Site Wastewater Disposal
Standards (2003), Crites and Tchobanoglous (1998), and EPA (1980). The references indicate
that 13 gallons per day is typical for each office employee and 5 gallons per day is standard for
each occasional visitor, when utilizing a low-flow flush system (Crites and Tchobanoglous,
1998).
The following table presents the septic wastewater uses associated with the Site. The rates
presented from the references provide general guidance but do not always reflect a match in
usage. Careful examination, professional judgment, and experience are necessary to select a
reasonable flow rate estimate. The flow rates selected for the uses associated with this project
are presented below.
,.A"A
©2014 Neil O.Anderson&Associates,Inc.
A Terracon Company
