Trans Sohal Logistics—Nitrate Loading Section Page 12 of 13
Our Project Number: LGS140011
October 8,2014
Table S.
Summary of Nitrate Mass Balance Equation.
Result Average Effluent Leachfield Deep
Parcel (Nc)* Acres(A) Daily Flow Concentration Denitrification Percolation
(mg/L-N) (Q)(gpd) (Nw) (d) of Rainfall
(mg/L-N) (R)(in)
1 5.8 2.22 38.57 85 15% 3.21
*Maximum contaminant level(MCL)for nitrate in drinking water is 10 mg/L-N.
2.3.6 Impact of Nitrate Loading to Nearby Water Sources
Since the subject property is relatively flat, we do not foresee percolating effluent affecting any
surface water resources.
2.4 Discussion of Nitrate Loading Results
2.4.1 Total Nitrate Impact
Based on the method and assumptions described, the result of the nitrate loading balance
indicates that the proposed development on the proposed parcel should not cause a buildup of
nitrates in the aquifer above 10 mg/L-N.
2.4.2 Methods of Mitigation
Because of the favorable result of the nitrate loading calculation, no mitigation measures are
warranted.
3.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
In summary, percolation rates that meet the minimum EHD standards were achieved at depth
(24 feet bgs) in the proposed septic area. The parcel appears suitable for the use of a septic
system designed for the intended usage at depth. All final septic system construction should
follow the San Joaquin County On-Site Wastewater Disposal Standards where applicable.
No groundwater was encountered in any of the borings drilled on the property. No well exists
on the site. No groundwater sample was analyzed.
4.0 LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed, our findings obtained, and our conclusions proposed
in accordance with generally accepted engineering principles and practices. Test findings and statements of
professional opinion do not constitute a guarantee or warranty, expressed or implied.
©2014 Neil O.Anderson&Associates,Inc.
A Terracon Company
