Water Analysis
The water table elevation varies from)approximately 10 feet above sea level at the West side of
the site to approximately 18 feet above sea level at the East side of the site The ground water gradient is to
the East. This information was taken from data published by the San Joaquin County Flood Control And
-- Water Conservation District titled Groundwater Report,Fall, 1994.
The water quality varies slightly in the area,as referenced from water sample results at appendix 1II-A-D.
Water sample test results that were taken near the site and at the site as follows:
Five water supply wells in the vicinity were sampled to determine the baseline concentrations of
nitrate and total dissolved solids. DBCP and EDB were also determined for two of the wells. The wells
that were sampled were as follows:
Location Sam le# Nitrate TDS
448 West Tredve Rd. 1 <1 m 966 m
d 13151 Neele R . 2 54 m 902 m
Heifer Facility 3 58 m 538 m
13436 N.Thornton Rd. 4 56 m 755 m
L 82 W. Kin don Rd. 5 49 m 274 m
Water samples from these five wells were transferred to A&L Western Agricultural
Laboratories in Modesto, where they were analyzed for nitrate and total dissolved solids. Samples from#3
and#4 were also analyzed for EDB and DBCP. There were not detectable traces found.
The water quality changes significantly in the general area, reference appendix MG&BE.
Coliform was present at the well at 13151 Neeley Rd. Nitrate was above limit in all wells except one.
Based only on the test results from these five wells and the fact that we are not sure from what depths or
from what aquifer water samples have been pumped from, it can only be concluded that the groundwater
nitrate levels in the general area are imparted.
l
rESSIotiA
G R( n,elk
 p
V. 2'
W.i ;1LIV
r
I certify this as a replacemen for Page 16,Lima Ranch Nitrate Loading study and Soil
_ Suitability Study,c ril ,20
Dated: 5 —3
°Western Design/David Avila 2001 16
