Sp.B8
--Stockton,CA. 95205
(209)931-0447
October 18, 1980
t
Dan .Samuel, General Contractor
2191 Navy Drive
Stockton, California 9.5206
_Attention: ..Dan Samuel
Gentlemen:
in :accordance with your request, we have performed a soil
.and foundation engineering investigation for Bokides Truck-
stop, a .proposed coercial •development approximately 7 miles
-west of Lodi, in San Joaquin County, California.
'Three exploratory -pits were excavated on the site. Predomi-
mately monexpansive silty _sand :for the near-surfaced soils
were encountered. Below this, the soil grades gradually
to coarse sand. -These foundation soils have low shear strength
-and are slightly collapsible when saturated. It is our con-
-clusion -that the structure can be supported by shallow foun-
dation systems, with their design based on an allowable soil
-bearing pressure of 2000 pounds per square foot. Specific
details are presented in the attached report.
1f -you -have any questions, or we can be - of further service,
please do not hesitate to contact us.
.Respectfully submitted,
. Randall, Inc.
.David L. Randall
President
