5) The Project Will Provide Regional Travelers on Interstate S and State Route 12 With Clean,
Diverse Amenities to Serve Their Travel Needs. Love's has been at the forefront of the
`.- convenience store and travel center industry for more than three decades. Consistent with its
longstanding practices and commitment to customer service, the Project will embody the Love's
guiding principle of"Clean Places, Friendly Faces" by providing friendly service and clean,
modern facilities stocked with the fuel, food, and supplies drivers need to keep them going. In
particular, the Love's Travel Stops at Flag City will provide numerous fueling stations for both
passenger car and truck fueling, a large convenience store, and fast-food restaurant, as well as
trucking supplies and showers.
C. CONCLUSION
As explained earlier, the Planning Commission has balanced these benefits and considerations
against the significant unavoidable environmental effects of the Project and has concluded that
the impacts are outweighed by these benefits, among others. After balancing environmental costs
against Project benefits, the Planning Commission has concluded that the benefits the
community, economy, and County treasury will derive from the Project outweigh the risks. The
Planning Commission believes the Project benefits outlined above override the significant and
unavoidable environmental costs associated with the Project.
Love's Travel Stops Environmental Impact Report 23 Findings of Fact and
Statement of Overriding Considerations
`'
