kn KLEINFELDER 5 HISTORY OF THE SITE Kleinfelder researches several sources for historical land use information. The purpose of the research is to provide general land use history for the last 50 years using interviews, Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps, Historical Topographic Maps, City Directories and title information (if provided by client). The following describes the information revealed by the sources. 5.1. AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY A review of historical aerial photographs may indicate past activities at a property that may not be documented by other means, or observed during a property visit. The effectiveness of this technique depends on the scale and quality of the photographs and the available coverage. Kleinfelder did review available aerial photographs for the subject site at City of Stockton Public Works Department and Kleinfelder's archives in Stockton, California. An irrigation ditch is present trending north/south across the western portion of the site. Adjacent to the north of the site is an area with ponded water. To the south of the site is Kettleman Lane, beyond which is an area with ponded water. Adjacent to the west and east of the site are wet areas. A drainage ditch is present trending northwest/southeast across the eastern portion of the site. Adjacent to the north of the site is a dry crop grain field. To the south is Kettleman Lane,beyond which is a dry crop grain field.
