L
` September 25,2006
NOA Project Number: E06102B
-
V/'5.0 SOIL PROFILE AND GEOLOGIC INFORMATION
The Site is depicted on the USGS Preliminary Geologic Map of the Lodi and Galt Quadrangle as
within the Quaternary Riverbank Formation. Quaternary Riverbank Formation (upper, lower and
middle members) these units are arkosic alluvium forming Mokelumne River terraces and alluvial
fan;chiefly sand;probably glacial outwash lower fans; abundant volcanic detritus (Plate 7).
/The surface and near surface soils located at the Site are reported by the San Joaquin County Soil Survey
to be composed of Sailboat silt loam,drained,0-2% slopes, (Plate 8) (USDA, 1992). Table 3
presents some selected properties of these soils:
Table 3.
r. X5.3 Soil Lithology Observed
v Generally, the soil encountered in the borings is similar to the soils reported by the San Joaquin
County Soil Survey for the area (USDA, 1992). Table 4 presents the representative soil log for the
8.5 foot deep soil boring. Conditions were comparable in the shallow holes.
5
