i
Technical Description
I
Protection of the control panel and PC from electrical spikes and surges is required where history of
power fluctuations occur and/or where the primary or emergency power is supplied from onsite
generators.
Maximum current demand is calculated at simultaneous operation of aeration,mixed-liquor transfer,
and sludge return pumps.
The electrical control system provides a separate alarm circuit powered by a rechargeable battery.
Electrical connections and controls are installed in accordance with applicable local codes and
ordinances.
' All the process pumps do not operate simultaneously in the automatic mode. In manual mode, the kw
demand will vary proportionally to the cycle and the cycle duration the operator selects. -
It is assumed the operator may manually operate the MLT pumps at the same time as the discharge
pump, or for purposes of restabilization of the mixed liquor, the SLR pumps at the same time as the
MLT pumps. The duration of manual control generally will not exceed one hour, and the electrical
loads calculated for automatic operation should prove satisfactory.
TREATMENT PLANT ALARM
Bio-Pure systems are provided with sensors locatedinside the aeration tank and with internal main
control panel circuit-breaker activation. Alarm activation capabilities are: 1) main incoming power
failure to the treatment plant;2)high water level in aeration chamber;3)internal equipment overload.
Alarm operation is independent of the treatment plant power source and will operate a remote light,
horn, or automatic telephone dialer.
t
19
