Mr.Jadi Singh
January 24,2003
Job Number: LE02481
—
Page 6
As mentioned previously, ground-water monitoring had occurred on the site by Fluor Daniel GTI
_ between November 1993 and March 1997 within three monitoring wells. Examination of the
records indicates that the depth to water on the north side of the property at the former
monitoring well MW-3 ranged between 5.13 feet in April 1996 and 11.22 feet in November
1994. .The average depth of the 11 measurements in MW-3 was 8.81 feet. The other wells have
similar measurements. The monitoring wells have since been removed.
4.3 Ground Water Quality
One ground-water sample was collected by Neil O. Anderson and Associates, Inc. on November
— 22,2002 from ground water within the 14-foot deep boring, and was analyzed by Precision
Enviro-Tech of Stockton, California, for the presence of common constituents. Please refer to
the appendix for the laboratory results. Following is a summary of the results obtained:
—
Table 2.
Summary of common constituents in ground water sample.
Chemical Result Units Chemical Result Units
Total Hardness 330.0 mg/L Nitrate(NO3) 4.0 mg/L
Calcium 70.0 mg/L Nitrate as N(NO2) ND mg/L
Magnesium 40.0 mg/L Ammonia as N(NH3) ND mg/L
Sodium 95.0 mg/L Total Kjehdahl Nitrogen(TKN) ND mg/L
Potassium 2.0 mg/L Total Nitrogen(TN) 0.9 mg/L
Total Alkalinity 198.0 mg/L Fluoride ND mg/L
Hydroxide ND mg/L pH 6.53 Std.Units
— Carbonate ND mg/L Specific Conductance 844 µmhos/cm
Bicarbonate 488.0 mg/L Total Filterable Residue 610.0 mg/L
—
Sulfate 150.0 mg/L MBAS ND mg/L
Chloride 25.0 mg/L
Examination of the water report indicates the ground water contains low concentrations of
nitrogen. Nitrogen is a common contaminant in shallow aquifers in San Joaquin County. It is
p[II Joh
