KLEINFELDER SLOPE STABILITY ANALYSIS GRANITE TRACY PIT TRACY, CALIFORNIA I. TR U ION 1 This report presents the results of our slope stability analyses for the Granite Tracy Pit project for Granite Construction Company. The Granite Tracy pit site consists of approximately 138. acres and is located approximately 2 miles south of Tracy in San Joaquin County, California. A site plan and vicinity map showing the approximate location of the site is presented on Plate A-1. 1 We understand that the approximate 138-acre site contains mostly sand and gravel deposits. The property is bounded by the California Aqueduct and Granite's existing facility to the northeast, Interstate-580 to the southwest, and mostly vacant land to the north, west, and south. The sand and gravel operations will generally extend to 80 feet below grade. Slopes cutat 3/4.1 (3/4 horizontal to l vertical) are planned. Reclaimed slopes of 1`/2:1 are planned. No benches are proposed. As you are well aware, Kleinfelder, Inc. has performed similar studies for Granite, as well as other clients, at nearby sites. IL PURPOSE ANDS OPE OF 5ERVICES The purpose of our geotechnical services has been to evaluate the potential slopes at the site. This report contains the following information: i • Plot Plan showing the locations of borings drilled for this investigation • Logs of Borings • Results of laboratory tests l • Discussions and results of slope stability analyses i III. SITE CONDITIONS The site is fairly level and consists mostly of vacant land. The site was covered with low.grasses at the time of our field, operations. A UNOCAL pipeline traverses the site in a northwest/southeast direction.
