1. INTRODUCTION
Dillon & Murphy was retained by Arman Franke to perform a Soil Suitability Study for
the Franke property located at 25784 N. Tully Road, Acampo, CA. The subject parcel
number is APN 021-030-47. The purpose of the study is to determine the suitability of the
property for septic tank usage as required by the County. The study was performed according
to the requirements of Section 10100 of San Joaquin County Development Code.
II. PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
The property is currently zoned AL 5. The Franke property consists of a 5.0 acre
parcel (see appendix for map). The site approval is being performed so a single family
dwelling may be constructed.
III. PRESENT AND PAST USE OF THE SITE
Historically this parcel has been a bare field with Coyote Creek bisecting it.
IV. EXISTING AND PROPOSED SEPTIC TANK USAGE
There are no septic systems located on the parcel. For the future development, a septic
system will be required. I have no knowledge of previous septic tanks or any septic system
failure on the property.
V. GROUND WATER AND DEPTH TESTING
According to the map of "Lines of Equal Depth of Water Wells" published Spring,
1999, by the San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conversation District, the depth to
groundwater at this location is approximately 150 feet. This differs from the 1990 map which
listed the depth as 130 feet.
VI. SOIL PROFILE AND PERCOLATION TESTS
One test hole was excavated in the area of the future homesite. The hole depth was 42"
deep and backfilled with three inches of crushed rock. The purpose of the test hole was to
determine percolation rates in this area. For approximate location of the test hole, see the
Tentative Parcel Map in the Appendix. The hole was prepared in accordance with County
Standards.
Generally, the surface soils consisted of a hardpan/clay. As shallow percolation tests
proved inadequate for conventional septic systems, further soil exploration is necessary.
1
C:\0223\FRANKE SOILS REPORT 0071902
