Current District rules can be found at www.valleyair.o!g/rules/1 ruleslist:htm. <br /> i <br /> Regulation VIII (Fugitive PM10 Prohibitions) Rules 8011-8081 are designed to reduce <br /> PM10 emissions (predominantly dust/dirt) generated by human activity, including <br /> construction and demolition activities, road construction, bulk materials storage, paved <br /> and unpaved roads, carryout and -track out, landfill operations, etc. The District's <br /> compliance assistance bulletin for construction sites can be found at <br /> www.valleya'ir.oLg/busind/compIV/PM10/Reg VIII CAB.pdf. <br /> If a non-residential site is 1.0 to less than 5:0 acres> or <If a residential site is 1.0 to <br /> less than 10.0 acres>, an owner/operator must provide written notification to the District <br /> at least 48 hours prior to his/her intent to begin any earthmoving activities as specified <br /> in Section 6.4.2 of Rule 8021. A template of the District's Construction Notification <br /> Form is available .at www.vaIIeyair.org/busind/comply/PM10/forms/Notification Form <br /> Final 12.01.2005.doc. <br /> Rule 2010 (Permits Required) This rule applies to any person who plans to or does <br /> operate, construct, alter, or replace any source operation, which may emit air <br /> contaminants or may reduce the emission of air contaminants. This project may be <br /> subject to District permitting requirements. If District permits are required, permit <br /> applications should be submitted .to -the District as soon as possible to avoid delays in <br /> the project. For further information or assistance regarding permitting, the District's <br /> Small Business Assistance Office can be reached at (209) 557-6446. <br /> Rule 4002 (National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants) In the event that <br /> any portion of an existing building will be renovated,.partially demolished or removed, <br /> the project will be subject to District Rule 4002. Prior to any demolition activity, an <br /> asbestos survey of existing structures on the project site may be required to identify the <br /> presence of any asbestos containing building material (ACBM). In accordance with <br /> CAL-OSHA requirements, a certified asbestos contractor must remove any identified <br /> ACBM having the potential for disturbance.
