There was a discrepancy
between the Report of Waste Discharge (RWD)prepared in April 2002 and the
Engineering Report prepared in May 2002 due to FCE's revisions of the design
plans in the intervening time. These discrepancies have been rectified in both the
revised design plans and the report revisions. The revised stormwater detention
area has a uniform depth of 3 feet with side slopes of 1:1. The detention area will
have an operating depth of one foot with a 2-foot freeboard. The operating volume
will be approximately 30,120 gallons with a freeboard volume of 71,410 giving a
total storage in the detention area of approximately 101,530 gallons. Due to the
infrequent use of the pond, the fact that the wastewater entering the pond will be
predominantly treated stormwater, which will overflow in the winter months, FCE
does not anticipate any deleterious algal growth or low dissolved oxygen problems
in this pond.
(2) Because the wetland will also receive stormwater runoff from the winery
processing area that will contain a low concentration of total dissolved solids. This
additional freshwater stream will act to flush the wetland and reduce the ability of
salts from concentrate in the wetland. FCE has performed mass-balance
calculations that estimate the concentration of salts flowing into and out of the
wetland. The results of the calculations are presented in the revised Report of
Waste Discharge.
