State Clearinghouse No. 200 1002 - 2 - 1 February 2002
CAS000002 for Discharges of Storm Water Associated With Construction Activity. Before construction
begins, the proponent must submit an NOI to comply with the permit to the State Water Resources
Control Board and a SWPPP must be prepared. If there are any questions about this process or the storm
water program, you may call Phillip Isorena at (916) 255-3398. Additional information can be found at
the Storm Water website - http://www.swrcb.ca.gov/stormwtr/index.html.
If the project will involve the discharge of dredged or fill material into navigable waters or wetlands, a
permit pursuant to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act may be needed from the US Army Corps of
Engineers. If a Section 404 permit is required by the Corps, the Board will review the permit application
to ensure that discharge will not violate water quality standards. For more information, contact the
Sacramento District of the Corps of Engineers at(916) 557-5250 or Patrick Gillum with the Regional
Board at(916) 255-3397. If the project includes disturbance of a natural drainage feature, the applicant
is advised to contact the Department of Fish and Game for information on Streambed Alteration Permit
requirements.
If you have any questions about the RWD process, please telephone me at (916) 255-3116.
TIMOTHY R.
