If the pesticide label or regulation requires a larger buffer area, the larger buffer shall apply. There will be no waiver of the required 24 hour Notice of Intent. These conditions do not apply to the following ground applications: 1.Vertebrate pest control 2.Back-pack applications 3.Equipment where all nozzles are pointing down AND wind direction is periodically measured as moving away from the school site 4.Other CAC approved methods NOTE: The uses of soil fumigants and their corresponding buffer zones are covered by DPR suggested permit conditions or by label. GWP-R2 Incorporated CONDITION-GWP-R2 - RUNOFF GROUNDWATER PROTECTION AREAS. INCORPORATED. Within 48 hours after the day a 3CCR section 6800(a) pesticide is applied, the property operator shall incorporate the pesticide on at least 90 percent of the area treated using a disc, harrow rotary tiller, or other mechanical method, or by sprinkler or low flow irrigation, including chemigation if allowed by the label using a minimum of 1/4 inch of irrigation water and a maximum of either one inch or the maximum amount of irrigation water specified on the label, at application rates that do not cause surface water runoff from the treated property or to wells on the treated property. This incorporation does not apply to the area treated immediately adjacent to the crop row for a distance not to exceed 33 percent of the distance between crop rows. Use is strictly prohibited around all residential areas, including single and multi-family residential properties, nursing homes, schools (except athletic fields where use may continue), day care facilities, and hospitals. 2. The products must only be used outdoors for control of burrowing pests, and are for use only on agricultural areas, orchards, non-crop areas (such as pasture and rangeland), golf courses, athletic fields, parks and recreational areas, cemeteries, airports, rights-of-way, earthen dams, and other non-residential institutional or industrial sites. 3. Products must not be applied in a burrow system that is within 100 feet of a building that is or may be occupied by people or domestic animals. This buffer zone for treatment around non-residential buildings that could be occupied by people or animals has been increased from 15 feet to 100 feet. 4. When this product is used in athletic fields or parks, the applicator must post a sign at entrances to the treated site containing the signal word DANGER/PELIGRO, skull and crossbones,the words: DO NOT ENTER/NO ENTRE, FIELD NOT FOR USE, the name and EPA registration number of the fumigant, and a 24-hour emergency response number. Signs may be removed 2 days after the final treatment.
