All cost for this drain set up are shared equally on a per acre basis. This <br /> works great till a wet winter. If we get over 4 '/z inches of rain in a month or high river runoff(to <br /> top of rock)for over ten days then we must install auxiliary drain pumps. The seepage from the <br /> river is so bad we have to install extra drain pumps. In short,the system is at max capacity.In <br /> 1997 we had to install 3 additional drain pumps and still we had approximately 200 acres under <br /> water for 30 days. <br /> r The Proposal for the chicken farm: <br /> i In wet winters it bas been proven they cannot contain their drain water in the French Camp sandy <br /> soil. With all the seepage from the river in the proposed location it will be impossible at this site. <br /> j Our problem with this is it will contaminate our entire dram system. If water quality control <br /> stops us from draining the contaminated water it will affect the entire 720 acres, not just the <br /> chicken ranch For this reason we insist a proven water quality drain system be installed for this <br /> chicken farm only.
