Although there was no definable trend in comparison between the two sets of perc tests (east vs.
west), the test results reveal favorable perc rates, except for the 24-inch test in the east portion
which had a comparatively slow perc rate at 50 min/in. The perc rate for the 24-inch test for the
west area was 19.2 min/in, illustrating the incongruity between these two tests. Consequently,
Table 4 illustrates the averaging of the two sets of perc rates and application rates to arrive at
average permeability and average infiltration rates for the entire future disposal area.
A summary of the perc test results with corresponding application rate in gallons of effluent
accepted per square foot, per day are found below in Tables 2 and 3.
TABLE 2
WEST PERCOLATION TEST RESULTS
WITH CORRESPONDING APPLICATION RATES (gallons/ft'/day)
t
24 INCH DEEP PERC TEST BORING19.2 'n/inch / 0.671 gallons/ft'/day
PERCOLATION RATE/APPLICATION RATE
D
36 INCH DEEP PERC TEST BORING 28.8 'Kinch / 0.567 gallons/ft'/day
PERCOLATION RATE/APPLICATION RATE
42 INCH DEEP PERC TEST BORING 9.3 'n/inch / 0.857 gallons/ft'/day
PERCOLATION RATE/APPLICATION RATE
60 INCH DEEP PERC TEST BORING 5.7 'n/inch / 1.029 gallons/ft'/day
PERCOLATION RATE/APPLICATION RATE '_
Application Rates adapted from California State Water Resources Control Board Guidelines for the Design of Sewage Systems.
TABLE 3
EAST PERCOLATION TEST RESULTS
WITH CORRESPONDING APPLICATION RATES (gallons/ft'/day)
24 INCH DEEP PERC TEST BORING 50.¢min/inch / 0.417 gallons/ft'/day
PERCOLATION RATE/APPLICATION RATE -'
36 INCH DEEP PERC TEST BORING 9.6,min/inch / 0.971 gallons/ft'/day
PERCOLATION RATE/APPLICATION RATE J
42 INCH DEEP PERC TEST BORING 19.y min/inch / 0.764 gallons/ft'/day
PERCOLATION RATE/APPLICATION RATE l
60 INCH DEEP PERC TEST BORING 11.4 min/inch / 0.786 gallons/ft'/day
PERCOLATION RATE/APPLICATION RATE
Application Rates adapted from California State Water Resources Control Board Guidelines for the Design of Sewage Systems.
Page-6-
Chesney Consulting
