❑ b. Flow estimates of watersheds that will be disturbed by or have a potential to impact the proposed
mining operation.
This proposed project will not disturb any watersheds.
❑ c. A description of land and water uses in affected watersheds that may be impacted by the proposed mining
operation including a hydrologic inventory of wells and springs in affected areas.
This area is predominantly farmed in almond orchards. Some properties are vacant because
the orchard has reached is life expectancy. Those properties are in the process of being
replanted. No watersheds are affected.
❑ d. An assessment of potential impacts to the ground water regime in the affected area.
This proposed project will not adversely affect the ground water regime.
❑ e. A map showing the relationship between the water table (potenfiometric) surface and the proposed mining
operation.
Ground water is at approximate elevation of 21' (NGVD)and the lowest cut of the grading excavation
is 38.3'.
D. Soil Assessment: If the reclamation plan proposes revegetation, an assessment of existing soil conditions may be
appropriate. A soil assessment may include:
❑ 1. A topsoil inventory map showing soil salvage depths to assess the volume of topsoil available.
See attached Agricultural Grading Excavation Plan.
® 2. A soil profile description describing soil suitable for reclamation.
See attached Soils Report prepared by A&L Western Agricultural Laboratories
® 3. An analysis of soil texture,chemistry,pH,porosity,permeability,etc..,adequate to assess suitability for revegetation.
See attached Soils Report prepared by A&L Western Agricultural Laboratories
E. Vegetation=ildlife:A discussion of existing plant and wildlife species is necessary to assess potential adverse
environmental impacts.The discussion may include:
1. A description of the biological setting(refer to"A Guide to Wildlife Habitats of California"available from the California
Department of Forestry and Fire Protection).
The proposed project is located between the City of Manteca and the City of Ripon in San Joaquin
County, California. Historically, the San Joaquin Valley consisted of a variety of natural habitats
that supported numerous plant and animal species. However, since the turn of the century many of
the valley's original natural communities have been converted to urban and or agricultural land
uses. Remaining areas of natural vegetation are fragmented and rarely found as large contiguous
areas.
i
® 2. A map and description of vegetation types of affected areas.
The orchard on this site was removed in October 1996. Since that time, it has been seasonally planted
with strawberries..
3. A list of all plants, large and small mammals, birds, amphibians, and fish known or suspected to be on-site(include the date of
the survey which can be critical in determining the presence of seasonal species).
The orchard site is kept clean of any weeds or grasses. The proposed orchard will provide habitat
for sparrows, blackbirds, crows, woodpeckers and blue jays.
Page 2 of 9 2006-20 Ag Ex Checklist.doc
