JOHN THOMING TRUST PROPERTY
SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY
Page No. 3
of each hole. A 3 inch diameter perforated pipe was then placed in
each hole and backfilled with gravel. Test holes were filled with
water 24 hours prior to running the tests. The last half hour of
the tests readings were witnessed by a county health official and
the test data obtained is enclosed in the appendix. The
percolation rates have been adjusted to account for the gravel and
pipe backfill. Calculations for adjustments are on the test data
sheets.
A summary of the test results is presented next:
Diameter of Depth of
Test No. Hole (in. ) Hole (in. )— Percolation Rate (min/in)
PT-1 8 36 11. 5
PT-2 8 36 14. 5
PT-3 8 36 11 . 3
PT-4 8 36 10 . 6
VII CONCLUSION
Based on the results of the shallow percolation tests, the
soil profile, and the performance of the septic system in the area,
it is our opinion that the proposed homesites resulting from the
proposed parcel splits should be suitable for use of on site sewage
disposal systems. The proposed systems however, should be properly
designed and installed according to current San Joaquin County
criteria.
Based on the depth to ground water in the area, and the size
of the proposed parcels, it is our opinion that the installation of
the proposed septic systems, if properly installed, should not
adversely affect the quality of the ground water-in the area.
VIII LIMITATIONS
The conclusions of this report are based on the information
provided regarding the existing and proposed development, the use
of the subject property, and the site conditions as they existed at
the time we excavated our test holes and performed the percolation
tests. It was assumed that the test holes and percolation tests
rpERSO
P 1
D h
Z W
O /
P
4SS p G
