INTRODUCTION .
Our office was retained Musco Olive Products, Inc. c/o FoodPro International Inc. to
conduct a Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading:Study for a property located at 17950 Via Nicolo,
Tracy, California(Plate 1). The Assessors Parcel Number of the property (APN) is 209-110-04_
The Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study was conducted to determine if the area is
suitable fora new septic system and leach lines. The study was performed according to the
requirements of Section 9-1105:2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development. Major elements of
the field work included one (1) exploratory soil boring, one (1) groundwater nitrate test, and one
(1)in-situ percolation test. An examination of the field work results, nitrate loading analysis,
review of published soil information, geologic maps, and available ground water information was
used to estimate suitability of soils and the potential impact of the septic system to the ground
water. This report presents the results of our study.
H. PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
The Musco Olive Plant is on a 126.35 acre parcel (Plate 1) located east of Interstate 580
and south of Patterson Pass Road at the south end of Via Nicolo Road,Tracy. The Musco Olive
Products plant processes olive food products. With a planned plant expansion,it is our
understanding that some parts of the existing septic system need to be relocated and the septic
systems capacity is to be increased_ Two existing leach fields and one septic tank are planned.to
be abandoned in accordance with San Joaquin County requirements. One existing 1600 gallon
septic tank will remain and reused. A new leach field area and 4000 gallon septic tank are to be
added and used in conjunction with the existing septic tank connected by a sewer line(Plate 2).
The proposed system design will utilize both septic tanks in parallel and will connect to a new
leach field consisting of shallow leach lines with dry wells on the end.
r
