Irrigation canals define the southern and eastern boundaries of the property. Surrounding properties are depicted as agricultural land with scattered structures along the Y major roads. A symbol identified as a non-water well,windmill, or wind generator is depicted under one-quarter mile to the northeast of the subject property. Land in the area slopes down to the northwest at a rate of approximately ten feet per mile. This map is included in Appendix C of this report. 2.4 Interviews 1 L An attempt was made to obtain historical as well as current information relative to the subject property L from the property owner or key site manager of the property. An Environmental Questionnaire and Disclosure Statement was completed by Patricia Knowles,owner of the subject property,on November 16,2005. A copy of her responses has been included in this report as Appendix E. LIn her responses to the questionnaire,Ms. Knowles indicated that she purchased the property in 1974 from Raymond Combs, now deceased. To the best of her knowledge, the property has always been L used for growing rice. Ms.Knowles indicated that she is not aware of any fuel storage tanks or chemical storage on the property during her period of ownership. 3.0 PAST AND CURRENT SOURCES OF CONTAMINATION L 3.1 Research Methods LNOA employs a standard practice for review of database information. On a street map showing the location of the subject property,a circle is drawn one-quarter mile out from the property boundaries, L and street maps or web-based mapping services are then used to determine address ranges for all streets within the quarter mile. All agency databases searchable by address are then searched for these address ranges. L3.1.1 Regional Water Quality Control Board L NOA reviewed the Leaking Underground Storage Tanks (LUST)list (October 2005), the Water Purveyors Quarterly Report on M'I'BE(October 2005),and the Spills,Leaks,Investigations,and Cleanups(SI JC)list(1$` Quarter 2005) on file with the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB)^in an attempt to determine if there are any files present at that agency which note the unauthorized release Lof a toxic or hazardous agent into the environment on the subject property or within a one-quarter mile radius of the subject property. The subject property was not listed on any of these databases, and no Laddresses within one-quarter mile of the subject property were found on the databases.
