PAGE THREE
The applicants have also been digging in an area in
the southern portion of the site that was
administratively permitted as an expansion of the
existing quarry operation. This area has not been
rehabilitated, slopes exceed 2 : 1, and consequently
there may be severe erosion and subsequent
downstream siltation during rainfall.
3.a. , b. The Natural Diversity Data Base did not indicate the
presence of any threatened or endangered species on
site. Disturbance of the site will, however, reduce
the habitat and forage values of the site for
various species. The illegal release of process
water into the Calaveras River and Mormon Slough may
have an adverse impact on the ability of these
-watercourses to sustain resident fish and wildlife.
4. The project will be subject to the regulations of
the Air Pollution Control District (A.P.C.D. ) ,
relative to dust and emission control.
5.a. , b. The quarry activities will raise the ambient noise
level, however residences are located far enough
from the site to be adversely impacted. This is
considered to be a less-than-significant impact.
6.c. The only hazardous material used on site will be
fuel for equipment. This will be subject to
regulations by the office at Emergency Services and
Environmental Health Department, and is considered
to be a less-than-significant impact.
9. It is not known if there are any archeological or
historical resource on site.
11.
