April 2, 2007
RECEIVED
Mr. Antonio Salcedo
San Joaquin County APR p 4 2007
Community Development Department
1810 East Hazelton Avenue Community Development Dept.
Stockton, CA 95205-6232
Application Number : UP-99-0014
Dear Mr. Salcedo,
On August 24, 1993 San Joaquin County Airport Land Use Commission passed and adopted
R94-21 Resolution Adopting the 1993 amendment to the airport land use plan. There were a total of
six airports that were recognized as open for use by the general public and fall under the jurisdiction
of the San Joaquin County Airport Land Use Commission. These airports were:
➢ Stockton Metropolitan Airport
Tracy Municipal Airport
➢ Lodi ( Linds) Airport
➢ Kingdon Airport
➢ New Jerusalem Airport
➢ Lodi (Precissi) Airport
According to Airport and Land Use Plan, California Government Code Section 65302.3 requires
the General Plan to be consistent with the Airport Land Use Plan. There are restrictions applying to
all zones and areas within an airport's area of influence. All land uses within the airport's area of
influence must be compatible and meet the required conditions of the ALUP. Conditions such as high
noise levels, radio transmissions interference, and objects penetrating navigable airspace must be
considered. There must not be any conditions that may result in a hazard to aircraft and restrict the
operations of the airport.
Development has greatly increased within the past few years and if left unchecked this will
lead to conditions that will adversely affect all local airports. In order to protect the rights of the
above listed airports: San Joaquin County Planning Department must enforce a "Deed of
Avigation and Hazard Easement" that complies with Airport Land Use Plan and is within the
guidelines of the Federal Aviation Administration. Any further development and land uses
permitted within the airport's area of influence must be permitted only when the appropiate Airport
Land Use Plan conditions have been met. I thank you for taking these guidelines into
consideration for future development. For any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to
contact me at: (209) 986-0797.
Sincerely:
Amrit Grewal
Kingdon Airport LLC, Manager
Kingdon Airport
cc: Airport Land Use Commission
Jack Sieglock, District Supervisor
Chris Ferrell, Department of Transportation, Aviation
Joseph Rodriguez, Federal Aviation Administration
City of Stockton
City of Lodi
Local Airports
