Universal Engineering Company (UEC) is pleased to present the following Nitrate Loading Study as part of <br /> the Calva Products, Incorporated (CPI) Lot Line Adjustment LA-9859 submittal to the San Joaquin County <br /> (SJC) Environmental Health Division (EHD). UEC has reviewed the septic systems existing on the SJC <br /> parcels 013-220-32 (referred to as the North Parcel) and 013-220-15 (referred to as the South Parcel); both <br /> systems have been observed to be in good working order with no obvious signs of imminent septic system <br /> failure. A soil profile investigation has been conducted on both the North and South parcels in order to <br /> determine the suitability of 100% replacement areas for the existing septic systems; as part of the soil profile <br /> task, UEC has performed two percolation tests as per the guidelines established by the SJC EHD document <br /> "Policy For Percolation Test Procedure" (contained in Appendix A). Finally, the Hanztche /Finnemore <br /> model for Septic System Nitrate Loading has been applied in order to assess the impact that the existing <br /> septic systems may be reasonably expected to have on the underlying groundwater with respect to Nitrogen <br /> /Nitrate infiltration.
