Merritt Silty Clay Loam and Peltier Mucky Clay Loam as stated in the Soil Survey of San
Joaquin County, California as provided by the United States Department of Agriculture, Soil
Conservation Service.
5.4 Discussion of soil lithology as related to future onsite septic uses: The Egbert Silty Clay
Loam, Merritt Silty Clay Loam and Peltier Mucky Clay Loam has slow permeability. (See
— Appendix).
6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION SECTION
6.1 Site Map Showing the location, with concise and accurate dimensions of the percolation
test holes on the parcel: See Appendix.
6.2 The Minimum Number of Shallow and Deep Percol, Tests was Performed fol Each
Parcel: Two shallow percolation test holes were prepared, one n each proposed parcel.
i
6.3 Description of the Date, Time and Protocol Used to Prepare the Test Hole, Including
Depth and Dimensions of Hole, Preparation of Hole, and Depth of Watp - sed to Presoak
(Minimum 12 Inches): The shallow test holes were excavated to a depth of 42 inches and
8 inches in diameter and backfilled with 2 inches of"pea gravel" in accordance with County
Standards. The shallow holes were prepared by Jake Handel of Dillon & Murphy on June 3, /
2008 at 7:00 a.m. On June 3, 2008 at 7:30 a.m. the 24 hour presoak period was started. The,/
holes were filled with 12 inches of water over the gravel at this time.
6.4 Description of the Date, Time and Condition of the Test Hole After the 24-Hour Soak
Period (Hole Still Intact, Hole Dry, Depth to Wate)YRemaining in Hole, Etc.): On
_ June 4, 2008 at 7:00 a.m. onshallow test hole were dry. Six inches of water was added to the
hole and the hole were deemlled suitable to continue. The first test hole held water after the 24 hr
soak and therefore a standard 30 minute test was completed. The shallow tests passed the
minimum County requirements.
6.5 The Test Conformed to San Joaquin County Policy EHD 02-02 (Correct Depth,
diameter, 2" gravel, 6" Water Refill, Correct Readings Recorded): The percolation tests
conformed to San Joaquin County Policy EHD 02-02.
6.6 Complete Percolation Test Form (Including Readings) Was Provided With REHS
Verification Signature. The Rate Was Correctly Calculated Using the Last Reading:
See Appendix for Test Result Form.
_ Shallow
TEST HOLE PERCOLA ON RATE
1 (Parcel 1) 27.78 NUNJIN.
2 (Parcel 2) 8.93 MINJIN.
*See Results in Appendix.
3
c:\0744 Soil Suitability Report 052308
